Read this if you are connecting a Datecs cash register to Flexy. The cash register only accepts receipts from Flexy while it is in mode 6, "Връзка с PC" (PC connection). In the other modes it works on its own and does not answer the computer.
Entering PC connection mode
Every operator can enter this mode with their own password.
- Switch the register on. The display shows "<<ГЛАВНО МЕНЮ>>" (main menu).
- Press 6, or select "Връзка с PC" with the arrow keys and confirm.
- Enter your operator password and confirm. In Datecs' short guides, you confirm with TOTAL.
- Leave the register in this mode while you work with Flexy.
If you hear a long beep and the register does not enter the mode, it is set to the short menu. Only Registration and Z reports are left there, and "Връзка с PC" can only be selected from the full menu. Switch to the full menu with the keys given in your model's manual, or ask your service company.
To leave the mode, press VD or ON: they always return to the main menu. After switching on, the register also starts from the main menu, so enter mode 6 again every time you switch it on.
Port and speed on the register
The register needs to know which port the computer is connected to and at what speed. You set this in mode 4 "Програмиране" (programming) → "Конфигурация" (configuration) → "Комуникация" (communication) → "Връзка с PC", in the fields "Номер на порта" (port number) and "Скорост на комуникация" (communication speed). Programming asks for that mode's password. If you don't know it, ask your service company.
The speed matters with an RS-232 cable (serial port). On some models Bluetooth also goes through COM1 and needs a set speed; this is noted under the model below.
- The menu is "10) Конфигурация" → "5. Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC".
- "Номер на порта": 0 – PC not connected, 1 – COM1, 2 – COM2, 3 – USB, 4 – BT, 5 – LAN. The default is 1.
- The manual contradicts itself on LAN: it is in the list, but noted as not supported on this model. For a network connection, check with your service company.
- Bluetooth (only with the module fitted): in "Конфигурация" → "Комуникация" → "Bluetooth" → "Настройки", set "Разрешение" (enabled) to ДА (yes), "Режим на сдвояване" (pairing mode) to 1 and "Режим откриваем" (discoverable) to ДА. In "Връзка с PC", select port 4 – BT and enter mode 6. The register shows up with a name like "DP-150MX-" followed by its number.
- Don't use Bluetooth and a cable at the same time, and don't connect a computer or PIN pad to the register's COM2.
- The menu is number 9: "9) Конфигурация" → "5) Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC".
- "Номер на порта" only has 0 – not connected, 1 – COM1 and 2 – COM2.
- The default speed in the manual looks unusually low, so be sure to check what is set.
- The manual describes Bluetooth, but the product page says the model has none. If the module is fitted: switch it on in "Bluetooth" → "Включи/Изключи" (on/off), select "Свържи с PC" (connect to PC) and enter the same PIN on the computer and on the register. Change the COM1 speed to 115200 and enter mode 6.
- The menu is "10) Конфигурация" → "5. Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC".
- "Номер на порта": 0 – not connected, 1 – COM1, 2 – COM2, 3 – USB, 4 – BT, 5 – LAN. The default is 1.
- Network: "Комуникация" → "LAN" has DHCP, IP, mask, gateway and DNS. If DHCP is "Да" (yes), the register gets its address from the router by itself. Ask your service company for the current IP address. The port for the computer is not in the manual; according to the Datecs protocol the default is 4999.
- Bluetooth: as on the DP-150 MX.
- The menu is "10) Конфигурация" → "5. Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC".
- "Номер на порта": 0 – not connected, 1 – COM1, 2 – COM2, 3 – USB, 4 – BT. There is no LAN.
- On the WP-50MX BT the serial ports are on a mini USB connector.
- Bluetooth: as on the DP-150 MX, with port 4 – BT and then mode 6.
- The menu is "10) Конфигурация" → "5) Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC".
- "Номер на порта": 0 – not connected, 1 – COM1, 2 – COM2, 3 – USB, 4 – BT, 5 – LAN. The default is 1.
- Bluetooth: "Конфигурация" → "Комуникация" → "Bluetooth" → "Включи/Изключи". When asked "Включване? Потвърдете (TL) Отказ (С)" (switch on? confirm TL, cancel C), confirm. Then select "Свържи с PC"; the register shows "Устройството е откриваемо" (device is discoverable). Enter the same PIN on the computer and on the register, set the COM1 speed to 115200 and enter mode 6.
- LAN is in the port list, but the manual does not describe the network settings. Ask your service company for the IP address. According to the Datecs protocol, the default port is 4999.
- In the main menu the mode is "6 C – Връзка с PC". The modes on the keypad also have letters.
- The menu is "9) Конфигурация" → "5. Комуникация" → "Връзка с PC". The first field is "Разрешение": 0 – PC not connected, 1 – PC connected to COM. The default is 1.
- Bluetooth: "Bluetooth" → "Включи/Изключи". Once you confirm, the PC speed changes to 115200 by itself. The PIN is shown under "Bluetooth PIN" in the same menu; enter it on the computer and enter mode 6.
Adding it in Flexy
- Open "Организация" (organisation) → "Устройства" (devices) → "Добави" (add). Pick the register under "Открити от кутията" (found by the box) if it is there, or pick "Фискален принтер" (fiscal printer).
- Set "Марка" (brand) to Datecs, "Серия или протокол" (series or protocol) to the model, and pick the connection type. With "Сериен порт (COM)", set "Скорост (бода)" (baud rate) to the same speed as on the register. Datecs X-series devices ship with Bluetooth switched off: connect them by cable first and switch Bluetooth on from the device's page in Flexy (see the general article).
- Save and press "Тестов печат" (test print).

If the register is not in mode 6, Flexy shows "Не е в PC режим" (not in PC mode) and a "Как да го оправя?" (how do I fix it?) link. It leads to The register is not in PC mode: Flexy does not print.
Once the connection works, run reports from Flexy: "Операторски действия" (operator actions) → "Фискални операции" (fiscal operations) → "Х отчет" or "Z отчет".
Datecs fiscal printers (FP-700 MX, FMP 350 X…)
Fiscal printers have no PC mode. They always wait for commands from the computer, so all you need is to pick the connection and, with an RS-232 cable, the same speed on the printer and in Flexy.
On the FP-700 MX and FMP 350 X you change the speed in the configuration menu: switch the printer off, hold down the button given in the manual, switch it on and keep holding until the third beep. On the FMP 350 X it also has "Откриваемост" (Bluetooth discoverability).
